A Message From Our Family

Dear Friends,

Congresswoman Jackie Walorski’s life journey has taken many paths from TV Reporter, to University Development Director, Overseas Missionary, Ordained Minister, Indiana State Representative, and finally U.S. Congresswoman IN-02.

In response to her untimely death, we have established two memorial scholarships in Jackie's name. 

The Jackie Walorski Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student that resides in Indiana's Second Congressional District pursuing a degree program in public affairs, politics or journalism. 

The Jackie Walorski Memorial Ministry Scholarship will be awarded to a student that resides in Indiana’s Second Congressional District pursuing a degree program in Christian ministry or a Christian mission related field.

If you would like to contribute to either or both of the scholarships, you may do so by clicking on Jackie’s photograph or you can click here to be taken to the donation page. The scholarships are being administered by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County and will  first be awarded for the 2024-'25 academic school year. 

These are endowed scholarships. They will continue on for generations to come. Please help to continue the work that Jackie accomplished during her lifetime by helping to raise up young Christian political leaders and Christian ministers/missionaries.

  Impact International Inc. Ministries (Impact) was founded by Jackie Walorski Swihart and Dean Swihart in 2001 when they were missionaries in Romania and is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit.


In order to continue Jackie’s legacy and serve those in need around the world, Impact is no longer idle. III Ministries is fully operational and supported and manned by partners worldwide serving a variety of needs, ranging from ministering the gospel, counseling, discipling believers, and providing humanitarian relief.

On August 3, 2022 Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (Swihart), Zach Potts, and Emma Thompson were killed in a head on collision. Everyone who knew Jackie was sure that they were her best friend. Her smile and laugh were contagious and when she walked into a room, she owned it. At political functions Jackie would meet and greet everyone in the room while other elected officials would only spend time with one or two people.


Politics is where Jackie excelled, but her passion was the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was born on August 17, 1963 and perfected on August 3, 2022, just two weeks before her birthday.


Jackie always viewed Congress as an opportunity for the gospel and prayed hundreds of times that through her position many would be saved. When asked about Congress she always replied, “I’m grateful to be there.”


Washington D.C. knew her as Congresswoman Walorski, everyone else knows her as Jackie. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb said of Jackie, “She was the kind of person that would run headfirst into a fight without a helmet.” She was fearless, and you weren’t going to back her down.

 

Impact Ministries is determined to continue the legacy of Jackie by ministering to hurting people, whatever their situation.

Dean is the widower of Jackie Walorski Swihart. He ministers  weekly on his saxophone with his church's worship team, and as a guest  musician with other worship teams. Dean is available to speak/preach  about the work of Impact International, Inc. Ministries, his wife Jackie  Walorski, or on worship, evangelism, discipleship, etc.  He plays prophetically on his saxophone and with it can express things that cannot be said with words.


Dean has been a public school  teacher for 29 years and an overseas missionary to Romania and  Malta. Invite  him to speak to your youth group and he will present a salvation  message that is engaging and memorable.  Contact him below to schedule a night of worship or a concert.

  Impact International Inc. Ministries is focused on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors, both locally and around the world, whatever those needs may be.


Impact will also be mobilizing a quick response unit to meet immediate needs arising from natural disasters and similar events.

Impact International Inc. Ministries was formed in 2001 to support the mission work that Jackie Walorski Swihart and Dean Swihart were doing in Romania. Impact has been and will continue to be focused on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors—locally and across the globe.


While in Romania, the Swiharts fed hungry children, imported over $500,000 worth of medical supplies for the Children’s Burn Unit, planted churches, ministered to street children, worked with various orphanages, established and taught at their Leadership Training Institute, had open air health clinics, did park ministry, and hosted volunteer church teams from the USA to give them a short-term missionary experience.
